Don't Find Your Niche. Become The Niche Itself.
Skip the "finding" part and get straight to crafting your own niche.
Hey there, friends! Welcome back to my newsletter, Growth Bites!
I'm Nouman, an entrepreneur and writer, and today we're going to dive into an exciting topic: niches. But not just finding a niche – we're talking about becoming the niche.
You've probably heard the common advice: find a niche and become an expert. But what if we skip the "finding" part and go straight to owning your niche?
Picture this: you wouldn't open a bakery next to a fancy restaurant, right? You'd carve out your own unique spot – like specializing in gluten-free cupcakes or creating elaborate wedding cakes.
That's the typical advice about personal branding, writing, business, etc. – find a niche and get good at it. But let's be real, there are loads of people in the same niche who might be better than you. So, just finding a niche isn't enough.
Instead, you should become the niche itself. How do we do that? Let's find out.
First, jot down 3 to 5 topics that you're good at. Maybe you're great at social media marketing, copywriting, or even baking.
Next, think about what you love to do. Do you enjoy helping entrepreneurs get more organized? Or maybe you love encouraging people to start their own businesses?
Where these two things – your skills and your passions – meet, that's your niche. This unique combination is what will set you apart.
I know this from personal experience. I used to make good content, but something was missing. Then I started truly owning my niche, and everything changed. More people began to connect with me, and I built a real community. I want that for you too!

Ready to become your own niche? Here's a practical exercise to help you get started:
List Your Skills: Write down your skills and what you're good at.
List Your Passions: Write down what you love to do.
Identify Overlapping Areas: Look for areas where your skills and passions overlap.
Define Your Topics: Make a list of the main topics you're going to write about.
Shape Your Message: Use these topics to shape your message.
Create Engaging Content: Make good content that showcases your personality and expertise.
Hope you give it a try!
Remember, owning a niche isn't a race, it's a journey. Keep trying new things, have fun, and consistently create content you love that helps others. Your niche will naturally evolve as you grow, and that's perfectly fine.
